Experienced, Innovative & Committed
to Provide You the Personal Care You Deserve
As the years pass, your body and skin can change. You may develop deposits of fat that don’t respond to diet and exercise and your skin may lose its tautness as you age, after pregnancy or weight fluctuations. BodyTite uses a minimally invasive technique and state-of-the-art radio frequency technology to melt away extra fat and tighten the skin for smoother contours. BodyTite can serve as a less invasive alternative to surgical body contouring procedures.*
Dr. David Dellinger has attained board certifications in both plastic/reconstructive and general surgery, and has more than 20 years of experience performing body contouring plastic surgery procedures. At Elysian Plastic Surgery, Dr. Dellinger works with men and women in the Austin area and beyond who are interested in refining their look without surgery.

The best candidates for BodyTite are healthy men and women who have realistic expectations and mild to moderate amounts of excess skin with some underlying fat. BodyTite isn’t a weight loss technique and may not be right for people who are severely overweight or in poor health. You may see positive results from BodyTite if you have loose skin and extra fat on your arms, back, knees, abdomen, legs, inner and outer thighs and the chest area.*
During your consultation, Dr. Dellinger will perform a physical examination and talk with you about your concerns and whether BodyTite may be right for you. Depending on your goals, Dr. Dellinger may recommend another procedure, such as liposuction or a tummy tuck, or a combination of procedures to best reach the look your hope to achieve.*
Before your BodyTite procedure, you will have the option of taking something for anxiety and a mild pain reliever. Dr. Dellinger and his staff will cleanse the skin and numb the treatment area, then use the BodyTite device to heat the skin and underlying fat to destroy the fat cells and tighten the collagen in the skin. The internal and external temperatures of your skin and tissue are precisely controlled throughout your BodyTite procedure to ensure optimal results without damaging the surrounding area. A small tube may be used to suction away the loose or melted fat. Your BodyTite treatment may take an hour or longer depending on the number of treatment areas but no stitches will be needed.*
You should be able to go home the same day as your BodyTite procedure. You should rest at home for a few days, have someone available to help you and get up regularly to move around. There may be some drainage in the first 24 to 48 hours that may require changing bandages. You should wear a compression garment, expect when showering and changing dressings, for the first week or two and during waking hours for another few weeks. You may be able to return to work and resume light activities in a few days but you should avoid strenuous physical activity for a couple weeks.*
You shouldn’t have scars from your BodyTite procedure and you may see results similar to surgical body contouring procedures. You should see a noticeable change in your body after having BodyTite. Your final results will occur over the next few months as the skin continues to tighten and swelling goes away.*

The ideal candidate should be in generally good health, mild to moderate skin laxity and is within 30 percent of their ideal weight. Those persons who are not good candidates include people with autoimmune diseases, with allergies to certain local anesthetics, have infections or skin diseases, and women who are breastfeeding or pregnant.
Your BodyTite treatment may take an hour or longer depending on the number of treatment areas but no stitches will be needed.
After the procedure, you may feel tender or sore. You may also experience some tightness, bruising and swelling.
Because the surgery is minimally invasive, you should feel pretty much back to normal within a few days. You should rest at home for a few days, have someone available to help you and get up regularly to move around. There may be some drainage in the first 1 to 2 days that may require changing bandages. You may be able to return to work and resume light activities in a few days but you should avoid strenuous physical activity for a couple of weeks.
While BodyTite is a relatively safe procedure, there are some risks associated with it. These include some firm areas under the skin, temporary lumps following the procedure, minor bruising and swelling and minor sensitivity or redness. The risks of permanent, serious injury are very small.
