to Provide You the Personal Care You Deserve
The skin on your face can change greatly as you go through life. Its vulnerable, smooth surface can be affected by genetics, age and environmental factors, such as sun exposure. SkinPen® microneedling with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) can help stimulate the production of collagen to improve the texture and elasticity of your skin, including minimizing sun damage, scars and wrinkles.*
In practice since 1997, Dr. David Dellinger maintains board certifications in both plastic/reconstructive and general surgery, and has performed thousands of surgical and non-surgical cosmetic treatments. At Elysian Plastic Surgery, Dr. Dellinger works with men and women in the Austin area and beyond who are interested in improving their appearance.

The best candidates for microneedling with PRP are healthy men and women of all ages and skin types who want to improve their skin. Microneedling may be right for you if you’re considering skin rejuvenation and want a more natural approach. Microneedling doesn’t use lasers or inject anything. Microneedling activates the skin’s ability to rejuvenate itself by stimulating the dermis layer in your skin to produce more collagen to improve the texture and tone of your skin.*
Microneedling can be an effective treatment for people who may not be good candidates for laser skin treatments, and can be done on the face, neck, chest, arms, hands, midsection, back and legs.*
Dellinger and his staff will examine and assess your skin at your initial consultation and design a custom treatment plan. He may recommend more than one appointment over a few months to help you see optimal results.*
On the day of your microneedling, your appointment should take about an hour. A topical numbing cream will be applied to your treatment area first and a small sample of your blood will be drawn and spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma. Once your skin is numb, the SkinPen device uses very fine needles to prick the top layer of your skin, after being adjusted to control the depth and speed of the needles. The clear platelet-rich plasma is then applied over the treatment area to promote healing and collagen growth.*
You should have little to no downtime after having microneedling with platelet-rich plasma and may resume your daily routine soon afterward. Your skin may be red and feel slightly sunburned or tight for the first few days.*
Although you may see a subtle change in your skin immediately, your results will be gradual as your body ramps up collagen production. You should see a noticeable change in your skin after 4 to 8 weeks. Yearly SkinPen appointments may help maintain your results.*
